Temperature & Relative Humidity Sensors

Model 41382 Relative Humidity/Temperature Probe combines a high accuracy, capacitance type humidity sensor and precision Platinum RTD temperature sensor in one probe. This probe offers a choice of 0-1 VDC or 4-20 mA outputs for T and RH.
Model 41342 Temperature Probe offers accurate temperature-only measurement. Three output options are available: 0-1 VDC, 4-20 mA, and 4 wire RTD.
Probes are easily installed in YOUNG naturally ventilated (multi-plate) or aspirated radiation shields.

Model 43502 Aspirated Radiation Shield
When used with a YOUNG 26800 Meteorological Translator, ‘C’ models are typically used (the 26800 will convert the values to °F for domestic use).

Multi-Plate Radiation Shield

The YOUNG Multi-Plate Radiation Shield protects temperature and relative humidity sensors from error producing solar radiation and precipitation. The multiple plate design provides a unique profile that blocks direct and reflected solar radiation, yet permits easy passage of air. The plate material is specially formulated for high reflectivity, low thermal conductivity, and maximum weather resistance. The shield attaches to a vertical pipe up to 2 inches (50 mm). The compact size and weight make this shield ideal for use in many applications.
Model 41003 is designed for use with sensors up to 16 mm diameter by means of a universal clamp-type adapter.
Model 41003P-24 includes a 24 mm adapter for use with all YOUNG probes.
Model 41003P has a custom adapter to fit a sensor from 16 mm to 26 mm diameter (please specify diameter when ordering).

Aspirated Radiation Shield

The YOUNG Model 43502 Aspirated Radiation Shield is a low cost, conservatively rated shield that protects temperature and relative humidity sensors while providing continuous ambient air flow to reduce errors from solar radiation and precipitation particularly in low wind applications. Designed with specially formulated materials for high reflectivity, low thermal conductivity, and maximum weatherability, the shield employs a triple walled intake tube and multiple canopy shades. The small shield size reduces the surface area exposed to incoming radiation during the day, significantly reducing the amount of heat that needs to be washed away from the intake tubes. Errors from outgoing radiation at night are similarly reduced. A continuous duty DC blower provides constant flow of ambient air over the sensor. A tachometer output may be used to monitor blower operation.
